Bait

Little mouse devoid of cheese,
What do know of things like these?
You do not know of brown eyed cows
Or goats or milking machines, now.

Here now, have this little bit;
I'm fairly sure you will savour it
Until that spring there goes snap.
Ha! Now I have you in my trap.

Little vermin, you little mouse
Don't infest my lovely house;
Wrapped in marble, packed with lime
And so on, but you're out of time.

Broken neck and broken back,
Your mousey tricks now painted black.
Really now, I must chuck you out
Though the cheese was good, without a doubt.
